The Science of Jumping

Why is jumping so important in sport?

Jumping higher can not only elevate your overall game, but can also give you an instant ‘edge’ against your opponents in a number of sports. For example;

Importance of Jumping in Sports

What are the common misconceptions about improving your Jump?

In the pursuit of improving your vertical leap, it is essential to debunk any myths that often misguide aspiring athletes. Here are some of the most persistent misconceptions:

Heavy Weightlifting or Intensive Plyometrics Are Necessary

Contrary to popular belief, our program challenges the notion that only heavy weights or intense plyometrics lead to improved jumping. There is a more effective and accessible approach.

Jumping Off Your Toes Enhances Your Jump

Another widespread myth is that jumping off your toes is the key to heightening your leap. Our program debunks this misconception, offering a more nuanced and scientifically supported methodology.

Genetics Determine Your Jumping Potential

The misguided notion that genetics dictate your jumping ability based on race, gender, or body type is a prevalent myth. Our program unequivocally rejects this idea, emphasising that improvement is within reach for EVERYONE.

The Science behind our program

Our program is rooted in rigorous scientific research. Through our extensive studies, we have discovered a technique to amplify the force you generate and extend the duration of force applied against the ground by making subtle adjustments to foot biomechanics. Giving you instant results!

This breakthrough is centered around 3 pivotal elements:

skip-rope

1. Physics

Harnessing the principles of physics, we optimise the tandem increase of force and the duration of force application.

2. Biomechanics

We refine the position of the foot during the jumping phase, strategically enhancing the timing of force production.

3. Neuromuscular Activation

By engaging additional muscles in your jump and systematically training to solidify these engagements, we transform heightened performance into a sustainable habit.

Visualise these 3 elements as essential building blocks, working seamlessly together to unlock the full potential of your athletic capabilities.

The Program’s Results

Study One: Vertical Jump Test

This study tested the vertical jump of 20 athletes pre and post technique change. The average improvement was 10cm (this was instant and will continue to improve over time with the program).

Study Two: Force Curve Analysis

This study tested the force generated using a force platform. Recreational and professional athletes were tested, and the average rate of improvement was 10% increase in force.

Since launch we have helped improve 100’s of athletes’ vertical leap across a number of different sports.
